Andreia Costa

Andreia Costa, born in 1997 in Luanda, Angola, is a young self-taught visual artist who began expressing her talent in childhood, drawing animated characters. Fascinated by the world of fashion, she created her first blog at the age of 14, but it was in art that she found her true passion. In 2019, she was part of the “Ateliê Belnique” social project, aimed at training aspiring young artists.

Over the years, Andreia has participated in various artistic initiatives, standing out for her work in realistic and hyper-realistic painting, with influences from artists like Kussy, Guilherme Mampuya, and Ana Silva. In 2021, she was one of the artists representing Angola at Expo Dubai, where she painted live during the Lusofonia show. Her art explores the emotional complexity of African women, their connection to cultural roots, and themes like resilience and beauty. Works like "Raízes" and "Complexos de Mumuila" are examples of her unique approach.

Currently, Andreia lives between Luanda and Lisbon, where she recently exhibited her collection "Transição." Using techniques such as acrylic, watercolor, and digital painting, she seeks a contemporary interpretation of African cultural traditions, connecting the past to the present. With a desire to study Fine Arts and become a curator, Andreia aims to support the next generation of visual artists.
